I’m back!

It’s been a hot minute! My last post was in September 2020 and needless to say I took a very long break. It wasn’t because I didn’t want to write or felt I had nothing to contribute, but because I felt nothing I had to say was nearly as important as listening to what was going on in the world and educating myself.

So what’s been happening?

2020 recap (is this needed?)

Well, as we all know, 2020 hit us all from multiple directions with really no one way to describe it. I had left my corporate job in July of 2019 thinking I would take 6-8 months off then start looking for my next job in February or so of 2020. We all know how this one went, due to the pandemic I ended up being completely out of work up until February 2021!

With that said, I was beyond lucky and fortunate in that my husband kept his job without any cuts. Since we weren’t going anywhere, there was also less money being spent and, again, I was very fortunate to have financial security during these trying times.

Quarantine + Isolation hit me hard. While I was itching to leave the house, see people, and do things, I also grew very comfortable at home and even now find it hard to leave my safe and comfortable space.

Navigating life with the fear of getting sick and getting others sick is something I’m constantly trying to overcome.

For a while in 2020 I got very much into my fitness and taught online classes which was fun and kept me motivated.

But probably the biggest change came when I decided to buy my first house plant. I mean if you didn’t get into plants during quarantine, did you even live it?

Becoming a “crazy plant lady”

My mom has always had a green thumb and our homes growing up were always filled with green. For some reason I had told myself I had a black thumb and couldn’t keep any plants alive. Well that turned out to be completely false.

Having plants has taught me so much about patience and care. When deciding to get my first houseplant, my main goal was to ensure its success. I did a ton a research, picked an easy beginner plant and very early on I learned that while aesthetically, plants bring so much into a space; it really is about the plant and not you or your superficial wants.

Today I have 32 plants inside and several more outside. I don’t have greenhouse or plant cabinet as my love for plants comes from the feeling of having a piece of nature inside my home. I love decorating my space with the right plant for a specific space.

Even though I’ve only been a plant parent for about two years, I’ve learned so much! And again, my mythology on plants is to ensure I have the right environment for the plants to thrive, not for me to cross off a wish list or complete a space aesthetically.

Plant Care Services, it’s a thing!

Yes, plant care services is a thing! And it’s really not that complicated. I find that most people feel lost in plant care because what we see in mainstream media is often all about the looks versus understanding the simple concept that plants essentially belong outdoors, so brining them indoors requires the right environment to keep the plant and plant parent happy.

I’m Claudia and I’m a content creator

As I was typing that, I couldn’t believe it lol. Truth is, I’ve been creating content for a very long time. Since back in the myspace days, my profile had all the bells and whistles. I love editing images, creating graphics and videos. So I stopped fighting it and started calling myself what I am, a content creator.

In 2018 I started handling all social media and marketing and in early 2021 I started managing other social media accounts as well. And guess what, I love it! I love creating and I also love looking at data. If you want some pointers on your social media you can learn more here.

The only bummer here is that I’m usually so busy creating content for my clients that I don’t have a ton of time to create content for myself. So bare with me, I’m working on a better system to keep myself accountable and committed to my own.

Empowering you to choose sustainable

And the biggest news, drum roll please……my best friend and I finally partnered and started our very own sustainable company, Kudos.

We are both extremely passionate about reducing our carbon footprint and conserving this beautiful planet. We were constantly sharing resources, products and ideas on how to live more sustainably that we thought, why not share this with others? So we are!

The recap

I’m back now because I feel it my responsibility to use my voice and continue to advocate for for you, me and our future. And a little fun and plants too.

Thank you for reading and following along. I’d love to hear form you!
